I employ a
person-centered,
strengths based,
approach to therapy where
you are empowered
as the ultimate director of your own path.
As your guide, the evidenced based treatment modalities I rely on most often come from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) somatic therapy informed practitioner. I also incorporate mindfulness-based stress reduction practices and techniques throughout sessions.
Each of these modalities has some basis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and includes additional elements of acceptance and mindfulness on top of the focus on behavior change. While behavior is one element of mental wellness (and often the most visible), thoughts, emotions, and physiological manifestations often drive and contribute to behaviors in ways that can be complex and difficult to unwind by yourself.
